Connecting The Dots

Connecting The Dots

During my National Service days, I was posted to Brunei for over a year as a boatman, far from home, where I learned self-reliance through hardship. I then taught young National Servicemen to drive military vehicles, which taught me patience. Then came the laborious solar job that only a very small handful of Singaporeans have ever done, and fewer stayed in. On tougher days, we carried cement blocks, panels and metal bars heavier than ourselves up to the rooftop, often with half a lift or none, then worked under the hot sun, far from the public's eyes. I loved it, for the health and fitness, unique skills, independence and people skills it gave me. I worked my way up the hard way, from technician to team lead, project leader and finally manager. And I left it to start from scratch as a Logistic Driver. And now working in Inventory Operations.

With each overwhelming day at work that comes to a close, I seek home to the warmth and comfort family and cats (@4d4mh4w4b4by). I love them all, for they made me who I am today through their wisdoms and sacrifice. And for the little I could offer to them.

Housechore's an inevitable routine. I have to learn to love it, for it instills discipline and responsibility. A clean and organized house is a happy home, and a reflection of character.

On top of that, I built and run @summitrehab.sg, @quiet.sg, @bilal.books, @summit.sg and authored 3 books with the immense help of a few important people who stuck through and the support of many others, those projects took its course. I love the journey for their productivity in benefit and benefit in productivity when paired with personal passion as an escape. I work towards them paying off monetarily too, so it may hopefully become a magnifier of good deeds and benefit. And this site is my first step in connecting them passion businesses, as a strive to hopefully make this a sustainable platform for me one day.

I try to go for jogs and soccer sessions, to keep the young and carefree boy in me alive while keeping my competitiveness, physical and mental health in check. I climb mountains too as you can see, where I escape to a totally different world, to learn gratitude in this one. That is where @summit.sg is born, and I wish to write a book on this journey one day, for myself. And hopefully do something related to this, full time one day.

Last but not least, I try to include God in ways my lazy ass can, for all that he has given me, that I can never repay.

I only have 24 hours in a day and 7 days to a week for all of that and more. I am tired most of the time and love is often uneasy. But I realise that we live up to an approximate average age of 60 years and am halfway that. So I'd rather be tired chasing after the right things. The people who do not go after anything in life are tired anyway too. Through all the material work you put yourself into, seek and prioritise the immaterial products that will enrich you, for those are the ones that will keep you going. This world is work. This world is work. And the only rest is Home.

I respect things that need work and the ones that face them head on. The ones who build things from the ground up and give their level best in whatever they commit to.

To the people who matter, I see you. And may it be made easy on them and their own journeys too for their own form of greatness. And may it be made easy on us to literally consciously sincerely pray for each other's contentment and gratitude - what great success. May we arrive to our deaths smiling, for we tried, and absolutely tried, for the happiness we define.
